People who often contact graphite crucible are sure to properly understand the characteristics of graphite crucible whose functions, including high temperature resistance, conduction, corrosion resistance, etc. can offer great assistance in industry. Graphite crucible primarily adopts scaly crystalline ore. The crystalline graphite is very stable in chemical property. The graphite is very stable in chemical property, and can be resistant to acid, alkali and organic chemical solvent, which lays necessary foundation for graphite crucible. After high-temperature calcination, pressing forming, and series processing of resin binder in manufacturing process, graphite crucible forms crucible, and is dried at low temperature to intensify the strength of graphite crucible. Graphite crucible needs manufacturing in many procedures, and each procedure determines the function of graphite crucible. The size of graphite crucible scale is deemed decisive factor of lubrication. The larger the scale is, the smaller the friction coefficient is, and the better the natural lubrication is. Graphite crucible is resistant to corrosion, but it shall be still noted that some corrosive substances shall be cleaned up after application.
Preheating method during the use of graphite crucibles
1. Because the crucible is a ceramic product, there are a certain number of pores in the material, and the crucible wall is easy to absorb moisture. In the case of flame or electric furnaces, the graphite crucible must be preheated to ensure that no moisture remains in the crucible wall
2. When used for the first time, under the condition of no feeding, the graphite crucible is preheated to 150-200 degrees and kept warm for one hour. Because the walls of the crucible oxidize rapidly in the temperature range of 315-650 degrees, the crucible cannot be preheated in this temperature range and does not need to stay in this temperature range for too long
3. The crucible generally does not need to be preheated again after the first preheating, unless the crucible is exposed to a humid environment again
4. After the crucible is preheated, the operator needs to quickly heat up to 850-950 degrees without feeding, and keep it warm for half an hour, and then drop to the normal operating temperature, and then feed. The longer it stays in the temperature range of 315-650, the more susceptible it is to oxidation of the crucible material. Oxidation not only shortens the life of the crucible, but also affects its function due to the decrease in thermal conductivity.
5. Heating the crucible to make it higher than the normal working temperature will extend the service life of the crucible. Heating the crucible to 815-930 degrees Celsius generally helps to protect the glaze of the crucible, and if possible, this high-temperature heating can be done once a week.
